Bajijian Is Bringing Chinese Ergonomic Chairs to the World

Bajijian (八九间) has been one of China’s best-selling ergonomic chair brands on JD.com for years. Now they’re appearing on international platforms. Lazada Malaysia lists their products. Hong Kong resellers on Carousell carry their C6 and U3Z models. Third-party sellers on Shopee and Taobao Global are shipping internationally.
This isn’t a formal global launch with press releases and distributor announcements. It’s the quieter kind of expansion – products showing up on cross-border platforms, pricing adjusted for international shipping, and a growing number of English-language mentions. The same pattern we’ve seen from brands like SIHOO and Hbada before they established dedicated international storefronts.
Why Bajijian Matters
In China, Bajijian competes directly with SIHOO, Hbada, and Ergomax in the 1,000-3,000 RMB range ($140-420 USD). Their chairs typically feature full mesh construction, adjustable lumbar support, 4D armrests, and high-density foam cushions. The C6, their popular model, adds 180-degree recline and a built-in footrest – features that Western brands like Herman Miller and Steelcase don’t offer at any price.
| Model | Type | Key Feature | China Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| C6 | Executive/Gaming | 180-degree recline + footrest | ~$280 |
| Y5F | Student/Compact | 4-leg base, small footprint | ~$150 |
| U3Z | Ergonomic Office | Full mesh, headrest | ~$200 |
The Bigger Picture
Chinese ergonomic chair brands have been steadily gaining ground internationally. SIHOO’s Doro series hit Amazon’s bestseller lists. Hbada sells through its own international site. Bajijian is following the same playbook, just a few steps behind.
The appeal is straightforward: comparable ergonomic features to chairs costing $500-1,000 from established Western brands, at a third of the price. Build quality varies, and warranty support outside China is still a question mark, but the value proposition is hard to ignore.
Our Take
We reviewed the Bajijian C6 and found it to be a solid chair for the money, especially for anyone who wants recline capability. If Bajijian sets up a proper international channel with warranty support, they could repeat what SIHOO did in the US market. Worth watching for anyone building a desk setup on a budget.
